Save the date

Save the date.

On Saturday, June 19, 2010, First Parish Church, one of the host sites for the DAC Open Studios for many years, will be having a summer fair from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. (The rain date is June 26.)

There will be live music, white elephant church tables, kids games, a farmer’s market, a bake sale, lamb on the grill and other barbecue goodies. Look for some of our Dorchester Arts Collaborative artists  under the canopies of colorful fabric.

The First Parish Church is located at 10 Parish St., in Dorchester, Mass.

Soiree success!

The Dorchester Arts Collaborative recently held its first Spring Soiree to celebrate the rejuvenation of the organization, introduce new DAC co-presidents Andrea Kunst and Florence Rawls, encourage artists to sign up for Open Studios and to provide a creatively fun good time.

Artist Shane Ruff set the mood by decorating the Great Hall with rows of candles and a giant vase filled with towering bamboo cut from the backyard of DAC board member Candice Gartley.

There was great food provided by the guests, great music, a digital slide art slide show and an opportunity for artists to work collaboratively on the banner that will be carried in the upcoming Dorchester parade.

This likely will be an annual event. Stay tuned for more fun in the upcoming months.
